1. Soil or seed-starter mix
2. Slow-release fertilizer
3. Compost (outdoor gardens)
4. Worms (outdoor gardens)
5. Planter Containers (Be creative! Indoor containers could include milk cartons or plastic bottles. Outdoor containers can include everything from old sinks and toilets to planter boxes made from reclaimed wood pallets.)
6. Landscaping cloth (coffee filters work for indoor gardens)
7. Seeds or seedlings
8. Small tags or signs to identify plants
