Stephen says: celebrate your achievements in the garden, and
celebrate them often!
Growing a garden is a lot of fun, but it takes work and you
deserve to celebrate your accomplishments.
Here are a few suggestions on how to celebrate your
great achievements:
- April is National Garden Month. Celebrate by inviting parents
and volunteers into your class for a garden party!
- Create a "vegetable of the week" celebration: choose a
different vegetable every week and share nutrient information,
recipes that feature that vegetable, decorate the classroom in the
color of the vegetable, do a writing assignment that features that
vegetable, even write a song in honor of the vegetable. The
possibilities are endless!
- Have a harvest potluck to celebrate the Thanksgiving
season.
- Have students research their family background, then prepare a
dish that uses the vegetables grown in class.
- Host a talent show, with vegetable themed performances
